What is Public, Educational, Government (PEG) television and how did it come about?
As part of the State of Ohio video licensing agreement with the local cable provider, one of the things that the community can insist upon getting is channel space for local public, education and government television as well as licensing fees to operate them. This is considered to be a payment of sorts for the right-of-way (ROW) that the cable company uses when it installs the cable lines throughout the community.

In Xenia, our Time Warner PEG Channels are: Channel 5 - Government and Channel 21 - Educational (Schools). For ATT UVerse: Channel 99 then choose Xenia Government Channel from a listing of several Miami Valley cities.

The City also provides live streaming video broadcasting of Channel 5 and on-demand streaming video of past council meetings and special presentations.
