The City of Xenia has unveiled designated "E-Commerce" parking spaces at the City Administration Building, 107 E. Main Street, Xenia, Ohio. The spaces will essentially promote a more secure location wherein citizens, residents, or visitors to Xenia can conduct business and monetary exchanges between parties that have occurred online.
Two short-term parking spaces were created at the City Administration Building to allow individuals to meet for the purposes of exchanging property bought and sold on internet sites like Craigslist, Facebook, Letgo, etc., and other similar such internet sites.
City officials have recognized a desire among citizens to have a safe place to conduct such business transactions. The City Administration Building, located directly across the street from the Greene County Sheriff's office, provides not only an added element of security, but a brightly lit, on-camera location situated on a main thoroughfare in the city.
The spaces are in front of a twenty-four hour security camera that will be marked and identified by signage.
Xenia Officials wish to remind individuals that they should still exercise caution as they go about engaging in such transactions as there are no assurances of safety in such internet commerce transactions.
