The first annual Elf on the Shelf Scavenger Hunt through Xenia’s downtown and midtown Xenia has its first winners
ELVES boards were handed out at this year’s Hometown Christmas and were also made available online. Several businesses and organizations in the downtown and midtown area participated in the fun and in all, 15 elves were hidden.
This year’s winners are Emma, 7, and Heidi, 11, of Bellbrook. The sisters hunted through town for two days trying to find as many elves as they could. They said it was fun trying to spot each one and added that many of the elves were well-hidden. Emma said her favorite hiding spot was number 15 at The Coffee Hub, “it was riding a bicycle on a shelf,” she said with a smile.
In order to be in the drawing for the scavenger hunt prize, participants had to return their boards to the City Administration Building and a winner was drawn from the returned boards. This year the prize was a Christmas basket filled with all sorts of goodies from our local businesses. Many of the items included in the baskets this year were donated from the businesses.
