Captain Chris Stutes FBI training graduation

Xenia Police Captain Chris Stutes has joined an elite group of Americans. He is now a graduate of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia.

Captain Stutes began the training in October and graduated at the end of December. Two hundred and fifty-eight law enforcement officers from across the United States and 37 countries took part in the 11-week course.

The training gives officers increased knowledge in advanced communication, leadership and fitness. Seven Xenia Police officers, including Captain Stutes, have completed the training. “I appreciate the Chief and City of Xenia giving me the opportunity to take part in this training,” Captain Stutes said after returning home.

In addition to classroom training, Stutes and other officers had to complete the ‘Yellow Brick Road,’ a 6.1-mile run and obstacle course through a wooded, hilly course. The course was designed by the Marines. Late into the training, Captain Stutes tested positive for the flu but still managed to complete the ‘Yellow Brick Road’ with a temperature of 101.

The FBI National Academy began operation in 1935 and since then, 52,540 have graduated. Captain Stutes is a 23-year veteran of the Xenia Police Department.
