Xenia residents who would like to make a difference in their city in less than 20 hours per year, should apply to fill the vacancy on the Civil Service Commission.
The commission is made up of five members, all of whom are residents of Xenia. The members are appointed by City Council and serve staggered terms of five years each.
The role of the Civil Service Commission is to see to it that employees who are classified service are appointed and retained on the basis of merit and fitness as laid out by the City Charter. The commission is an important checks and balances for the City of Xenia.
