Neighborhood Night Out

NNOWhat is Neighborhood Night Out?

Neighborhood Night Out (NNO) is an annually planned community outreach and information event series designed to take local government and community organizations directly to Xenia neighborhoods.  In addition to essentially taking City Hall “to the streets,” with City of Xenia administrative representatives, the Xenia Police Division, Xenia Fire Division, and other city personnel, various community organizations also participate. Neighborhood Night Out partners include Xenia Community Schools, OhioMeansJobs-Greene County, Central State University, The National Parks Service and the Charles Young Buffalo Soldier Home National Monument, Greene County Public Health and Greene County Jobs and Family Services. The events are scheduled May through September and are held outdoors.

Please join us at Neighborhood Night Out!  There’s free food, music, fun for kids, information and resources from in and around the city, police cars and fire trucks, community engagement, and most importantly, fun!

And while NNO is kid-friendly, it’s not just for the kids! Residents and visitors with no kids are encouraged to come enjoy the events and engage in the community!

NNO2Why Neighborhood Night Out?

Neighborhood Night Out was originally created to acquaint residents with City Hall personnel and familiarize the public with the ongoing business of Xenia. It has evolved into a community awareness program in neighborhoods around the City.

What is the “Inclement Weather” procedure for Neighborhood Night Out?

This year, in cases of inclement weather, when the event is at a school, the event will be moved inside the school to the gymnasium.

The last Neighborhood Night Out that is being held at the Lexington Park in Xenia will be on normal inclement weather routine. If bad weather is forecasted on that day, the decision will be made by 2 pm and announced on all Xenia social media platforms.
