The Bird app shows riders the closest scooter to their location, allow riders to to unlock it prior to getting started, and lets riders pay for the amount of time you’d like to use it. Unlocking a scooter will cost $1 and then between $.39 and $.59 per minute of use.
Once a scooter is in use, the rider must follow all traffic and safety laws. Bird scooters will only be permitted on roadways with speed limits of 45 mph and below. Scooters are also welcome to be ridden in the bike lanes. Riders must be 18 years or older to operate a scooter and helmet use is encouraged. When the ride is complete, scooters must be parked in a designated parking area or on the sidewalk in a way that does not block pedestrian traffic. The Bird app will help riders find a designated parking area.
