Property Maintenance
The mission of the Code Enforcement Division of the Planning and Zoning Department is to improve and maintain the City’s housing and businesses through the upholding of the property maintenance codes and ordinances of the City of Xenia. The inspection and enforcement efforts of the Code Enforcement Officer protects the tax base and property values of the City by removing blight and encouraging the maintenance of buildings and property.
Property Maintenance
The Property Maintenance Code Enforcement Officer works closely with homeowners to address property maintenance issues. This cooperation allows for the correction of code violations and helps to preserve the quality of life within the City’s neighborhoods. The Property Maintenance Code Enforcement Officer inspects apartments and homes for hazards and deficiencies that threaten the health and safety of residents. Enforcement of housing standards helps keep the City's housing stock habitable and fosters the maintenance and improvement of buildings within the City. The Property Maintenance Code Enforcement Officer works closely with property owners to prevent demolition of structures and displacement of residents.
The Property Maintenance Code Enforcement Officer inspects properties throughout the City for junk, weeds, and other unsightly problems that detract from the City's environment and aesthetic qualities.
