Xenia City Utility Billing Consumer Alert!
Authorize.net, one of the largest bill payment processors in the nation, has notified the City of Xenia via Twitter that some DEBIT/CREDIT CARD ONLY bill payments made on September 23, 2016 may have been reprocessed on or about October 18, 2016, if the payments were made to the City via our website.
Authorize.net, one of the largest bill paying processors in the United States and with whom the City of Xenia is a client, placed this information on their Twitter page stating that they experienced a double processing error impacting thousands of merchants and customers, possibly including City of Xenia Utility Billing customers, and that they are in the process of correcting their error. It appears that Authorize.net submitted duplicate payment requests for payments made by City of Xenia customers, originally submitted via our website, on or about Friday, September 23, 2016.
The only communication at this point that we have received from Authorize.net is that they are aware of the problem and are correcting it. Unfortunately the the City of Xenia can not correct this issue since we have not received the duplicate payments, but please be advised that payments have apparently only been submitted in error again against the customer’s bank accounts.
The City of Xenia Utility Billing and Income Tax Office is open for business daily at 107 E. Main Street from 8:30 am until 4:30 pm to answer any questions concerning this issue or we can be reached at 937-376-7242, however, for immediate and personalized service that may be related to individual accounts, customers may wish to contact Authorize.net to discuss this situation and any impact upon individual accounts. If the City of Xenia receives updated information, we will notify you immediately via our website and Facebook. Your bank may be aware of this situation, but you may wish to contact them to discuss your individual account.

- View and/or pay your Xenia Utility account online using the link at the left.
- Make a payment via phone by calling the Utility Billing Division at 937-376-7242 between 8:30 AM and 4:30 PM
- Payments are accepted at Groceryland (1308 N Detroit St)
- There is a 24 hour drive-up drop box at the rear of the City Administration Building (107 E Main Street) for checks (no starter checks) and money orders. NO CASH SHOULD BE PLACED IN THE DROP BOX.
- Cash, checks (no starter checks), money orders, VISA, MasterCard or Discover accepted at our offices, Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM and 4:30 PM.
